post-thanksgiving post

well, i'm back. finally thawing from the snow and cold of colorado where i spent thanksgiving with penquin's family.

apart from the sore throat that i got from the sickies, it was a nice mellow vacation/holiday. i played aunt to two cute kids. unfortunately one of them threw up on my neck and into my USC hoodie. blech. but i guess that happens when you've got a sick 11 month old kid who likes to have spastic happy freakouts. heh

we did a lot of the typical R family things. sat in several hands of euchre, played some board games, amused/were amused by the kids, watched the squirrels sock away peanuts. we did an early christmas so we could see the kids rip up wrapping paper and chew on boxes.

i experienced bitter cold and falling snow for the second time in my life. the first time being on the previous weekend coming back from las vegas. it was snowing in barstow and closed the 15 down for quite a long time. so what would normally be a four hour drive back took eleven!! ugh.

this second time was quite nice. i wasn't sitting trapped in a car on the road. the snow fall in denver was steady as it blanketed the ground, the cars, the gazebo outside the hotel room. sadly i didn't have enough time to really play around in it. we weren't in denver for very long, and left before it really dumped on the city. the snow fell some in colorado springs, but it was very light compared to the storm denver got.

ok so next time i'm somewhere where the snow is falling i will make a snowman, have a snowball fight, and maybe do a snow angel.


i like holidays, but it's also nice to be back home. in sunny california. even if it was 34 this morning in brrrrrrrrrrbank. yeah, wtf is up with that?
